On April 26, 2025, the Global Heritage Society was honored to take part in the Party for the Planet celebration at the Bergen County Zoo, where we were featured as one of the highlighted local conservation organizations. Our participation centered on raising awareness about the unique ecology of Mongolia’s Gobi Desert and the urgent need to protect one of its most iconic and endangered species — the Wild Camel.

Our exhibit offered visitors both education and fun. Guests were invited to test their knowledge through an interactive wildlife guessing game, learning about the remarkable animals that survive in one of the harshest environments on Earth. For younger participants, we introduced a hands-on papercraft activity, where children and families could fold their very own Wild Camel models. This creative activity quickly became one of the most popular stops of the day, sparking curiosity and conversation about the species’ fragile future.

Although the weather brought steady rainfall, the event was a resounding success. Hundreds of visitors came through during the zoo’s opening hours, demonstrating the community’s enthusiasm for conservation, education, and meaningful action. We were proud to share our mission and to inspire families, students, and wildlife lovers alike to join us in protecting our shared natural heritage.

Events like Party for the Planet highlight the importance of connecting people with conservation through education and hands-on experiences. By engaging the public — especially children — in fun and meaningful ways, we inspire greater awareness, foster a sense of responsibility, and build lasting support for protecting endangered species and fragile ecosystems worldwide.
